Düx Big Block

The
Düx Big BlockTM V-twin
street engine was conceived several years ago by Michael Düx
(motorcycle parts distributor in Hamburg, Germany).
Düx commissioned Randy Torgeson
(Hyperformance) to create and develop the components for the
massive bore/short stroke powerplant. Randy applied his many
years of experience building enormous fuel and gas racing
engines to resolve the design and engineering challenge of
the giant ductile iron Big JugsTM,
CNC billet MegaHeadsTM and
the complex valve train geometry and related parts.
Preliminary prototype engines were assembled using cast
aluminum cases in a 144" version. The final version uses
gorgeous Ray Keck CNC billet cases.
The result is a beautiful blend of German
inspiration and All-American craftsmanship, ingenuity and
simplicity. The power potential of this "oversquare"
design is still being explored, but recent dyno testing of a
prototype Big BlockTM with a
moderate duration cam yielded smooth power and awesome
torque.
